Atherton

Atherton is a reasonably-sized town. We did a scenic drive today (thanks to John and Lorraine again for taking us with them) travelling to Lake Tinaroo and dam. The men took their fishing gear and tested their skills and knowledge in the hopes of catching a barramundi. We'd already planned dinner which was fortunate as the fish remained safe for another day. Robert and John know that it's too cold to catch fish or yabbies but they were being very positive (for a while).

Our drive took us through some very picturesque country - lakes, camping areas, dense forests with Kauri pine and other tropical plants. It must be a full-time job for the shires (councils) to make sure that plants don't creep across main roads.

Arriving back at the CP, I thought I'd bake some muffins in the convection oven - a bit more tweaking is in  order - they were OK but could have done with a few more minutes. Learning all the time and at least I had something for us to eat unlike the anglers!
